During the weekly conversation on July 9, 2013, Gary Stevens chatted with US House Rep. Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) about some governmental paradoxes - the White House citing good progress on improving government accountability and efficiency while the IRS scandal mushrooms; the doom and gloom of the Sequester fading as the budget deficit is shrinking as a direct result of that action; and the calls for more refineries in Michigan to deal with high gas prices while the EPA isn't inclined to issue any more permits for such facilities anywhere in the US.
