Today's Headlines: In the wake of yesterday’s bombings at the conclusion of the Boston Marathon, it didn’t come as that much of a surprise to some that another large-scale act of violence occurred on American shores; details about a proposed 600 thousand-dollar “Historic Ottawa Beach Walkway” were unveiled during a public hearing in the Park Township Hall last night; tax deadline day was a good time to talk about taxes along the Lakeshore; a county-by-county phone calling campaign has begun by friends and relatives of Fred Byrne, the attorney from Big Rapids who has been missing since dropping off his son at Hope College on February 12th; an effort to raise money for needed repairs of the venerable De Zwaan Windmill and a renovation of Windmill Island Gardens is set for the seasonal opening of the city park this Saturday; ground was broken yesterday on a 55 million-dollar science building on Grand Valley State University’s main campus in Allendale; the Tigers continue their West Coast trip in Seattle tonight; the Lakeshore is enjoying sunshine today, but rain is back in force tomorrow.
