Red Kingman's Interview With Maureen Ferguson On The Hobby Lobby and the HHS Controceptive Mandate (12.1 MB)
Summary
On December 11, 2012 Red interviewed Maureen Ferguson of The Catholic Association about Hobby Lobby. That is a family owned business/chain that could be facing fines of up to $1.3 million a day until they comply with the Obama Care contraceptive mandate. (Wikipedia) On January 20, 2012, Health and Human Services' Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the mandate requiring that all health plans provide coverage at no cost (including deductibles and co-payments) for all contraceptives approved by the Food and Drug Administration as part of preventive health services for women. The mandate also required coverage for sterilizations. The problem is that the owners of Hobby Lobby are Christians and the mandate goes against their religious beliefs. Too bad says the Obama administration. They will either get in line with the mandate or be fined...religious stance notwithstanding. In this episode Red discusses this and the law suit brought by Hobby Lobby against the federal government. Listen as Maureen shares this horrible story of the trampling of religious freedoms by our government.
