WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two dogs in the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Unit canine division now have some more protection when working in dangerous situations.
Thanks to a charitable donation from the group Vested Interest in K9s, Incorporated, Andy and Blitz have been provided bullet and stab protective vests valued between 18 hundred and 22 hundred dollars each. The group made the gift on behalf of two separate sponsors, and provides such apparatus and other assistance to law enforcement animals throughout the country.
This donation was initially announced in April. The unit welcomed two dogs, Kyan and Pappy, in July.
