CASCO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Nobody was injured after a semi-truck caught on fire while parked at a rest stop in Allegan County.
Officials with South Haven Area Emergency Services were called to the I-196 rest area in Casco Township around 7:45 a.m. Thursday to extinguish a blaze that destroyed the tractor of a big rig.
The driver said he was enroute to Holland and pulled into the rest area just before flames appeared in the engine area. Luckily, the driver and his dog escaped injury.
The cause of the fire was not released.
