HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 26-year-old Hamilton man drowned in the City of Allegan, according to Allegan County sheriff’s authorities.
The man’s family called police to say the man had gone fishing alone in the area and hadn’t returned. Police from the city and Sheriff’s office, with help from Allegan firefighters and Michigan State Police troopers, went searching around Marshall Street Bridge over the Kalamazoo River and found the man’s vehicle and fishing tackle near the river.
Allegan County Dive/Rescue team members then found the man’s body in 10 feet of water.
The man’s name is not being released at this time.
