HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Farmers Market is open for the season and people looking to stretch their Bridge Card benefits can double their bucks at the market, according to Ottawa County dietician Lisa Uganski.
She also coordinates the Ottawa Food program and says there are many benefits to eating whole foods — and a trip to the farmers market can be a free family activity.
“It’s an experience for the family, if they go together to the farmers market,” she said. “A lot of times, thre’s kids’ activities.”
The Double-Up Bucks program also supports local growers, she said, and they are eager to share tips and quick recipes on great ways to use the produce purchased.
The Holland Farmers Market operates 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday from May 17-Dec. 9.
