HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Accidentals, one of Yahoo Music’s “Top 10 Bands to Watch” last year, will headline Taste of Muskegon on Friday, June 15.
One of the Lakeshore’s fastest growing events,Taste of Muskegon organizers sent out a survey in the fall to learn about Muskegon’s musical preferences. Survey results guided Taste organizers for this year’s festival.
Merchant and Corbin will open for The Accidentals; John Merchant of Ludington is known for his ability to blend genres into a uniquely Michigan sound.
Saturday’s line up features classic hits from the last three decades with two popular West Michigan bands. The evening starts off with 90’s pop and rock music of Electric Red. followed by Let There Be Rock, a tribute to early AC/DC.
“Muskegon told us that the music was important to them and they wanted more classic rock. We decided to bring in new bands this year and these bands are lively and fun for the whole family to enjoy.” said Ann Meisch, Taste of Muskegon’s director.
For the first time, the City of Muskegon is producing Taste of Muskegon Presented by Cole’s, is set for June 15-16 in Hackley Park.
Taste of Muskegon pairs with Parties in the Park Friday night and will feature the West Michigan Offshore Club Powerboat Street Party as part of Powerboat weekend.
Yoga in the park is set for Saturday, with three free yoga classes as well as Kid’s Safety Saturday with fire trucks, a police K-9 unit, kid’s ID program and more.
Awards for Taste of Muskegon’s best plates will be announced Saturday afternoon and includes both judge and public votes.
