HOLLAND — Congressman Fred Upton will speak at Monday’s sold-out West Coast Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Yacht Basin Marina.
The Republican U.S. Representative for Michigan’s Sixth Congressional District is co-leading the new bipartisan committee charged with creating legislation in response to the Parkland school shooting.
He’s the former chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees energy, healthcare, environmental issues, telecommunications, commerce, manufacturing and trade, along with oversight and investigations. Upton currently leads the Subcommittee on Energy.
Most recently, he’s been in the news supporting efforts to stem the opioid crisis.
