GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of an inmate.
Deputies found 33-year-old William VanEyck of Holland unresponsive in his cell on March 3rd, as he was awaiting sentencing in Ottawa County Circuit Court on various felony charges. Taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment, he died at that facility on Monday.
The official cause of death wasn’t immediately disclosed as the matter is being investigated by the department. A funeral service is this afternoon at the Mulder Chapel.
