HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Detectives from the Holland Department of Public Safety are looking into to a suspected embezzlement case involving an employee of the Macatawa Area Express.
After combing through financial records over the past five years of the regional mass transportation agency’s offices in the Padnos Transportation Centre, investigators found evidence of what is only being described at this point as “ongoing embezzlement” involving just one staffer at this point. The findings have been shared with members of the MAX Authority Board, who have opened an internal probe as a result on the unnamed employee in question.
No arrests have been made as of Friday afternoon, and no further details were disclosed, when Public Safety Captain Keith Mulder made the initial announcement of this investigation, which is still ongoing.
