Hamilton punched its ticket to the state Class B girls’ tournament quarterfinals last night as the Hawkeyes downed Edwardsburg in a regional final at Hopkins, 43-26. The Black and Gold now faces Jackson Northwest in Marshall on Tuesday evening.
In boys’ district finals tonight: West Ottawa takes on Jenison in Class A at Hudsonville, with broadcast time at 6:40 PM on 1450 WHTC and the New 99.7 FM; and in Class B at Hamilton, Holland Christian battles Unity Christian.

NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament sectional semifinal play this evening at DeVos Fieldhouse begins at 5:30 with Thomas More meeting Gustavus Adolphus, followed by the Hope Flying Dutch hosting Christopher Newport in a contest that can be heard around 7:10 PM on the Lakeshore’s 92.7 The Van.
In state major-college basketball, Buffalo ended Central Michigan’s season in the Mid-American Tournament at Cleveland yesterday, 89-74, while Eastern Michigan advanced with a 67-58 triumph over Akron; the Eagles take on Toledo at Quicken Loans Arena tonight.
