HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The identity of a 46-year-old man found dead at a home on Holland’s North Side around dawn on Monday has been disclosed.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Mark Bennett announced on Monday afternoon that, after an autopsy was conducted at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, it was determined that Robert Gammey died from “a single gunshot wound to the head.” However, the “manner of Mr. Gammey’s death has yet to be determined” if it was a self-inflicted wound or if it was caused at the hands of another.
Deputies were initally called to a residence off of Analine Avenue south of Lakewood Boulevard shortly after 6:30 AM. Mr. Gammey had lived there with his wife and an adult daughter.
Bennett said in the initial announcement of the incident that the two women had been cooperating in the investigation, which is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Captain added that anyone with any information on the matter is asked to contact his department or Silent Observer.
