BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) –A woman has been arrested for a road rage incident that resulted in gun play. The 21-year-old is being held on two counts of assault with intent to murder.
Battle Creek Police say it occurred in the area of Beckley and Capital Avenues about 8pm Saturday night. Investigators aren’t saying what triggered the outburst, but they say whatever it was, it prompted the suspect to fire a shot from a handgun into the other car. She missed its two occupants.
A vehicle description was issued for the suspect and responding officers located her near Glenn Cross Road and M-66 and initiated a felony traffic stop.
They learned the weapon had been tossed from the vehicle and recovered, along with ammunition.
The female suspect was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on the two attempted murder counts and a few gun felonies. She will likely be arraigned on Monday, but until then she will be held without bond.
