SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Now that the voters have spoken at the ballot box, Saugatuck Public Schools want to know from them what direction it should take.
The Lakeshore district announced on Tuesday the unveiling of a new community survey seeking, according to Superintendent Tim Travis, “to involve many more district stakeholders as we look to provide the best opportunities for our students and plan for the future of our school district.” The online poll comprises of several questions involving the successful renewal on May 8th of Saugatuck’s building and site sinking fund, along with the defeat of a 50.7 million-dollar bond proposal, and the future needs of the district.
Dr. Travis added that, “All responses are anonymous and will be reviewed by the District Facilities Steering Committee and the Board of Education.” Polling will end just before midnight on August 10th, and paper copies of the survey will also be made available at the district’s central office and at the office of Saugatuck Middle/High School.
