WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – A major infrastructure grant from Washington is headed to Coopersville.
The US Department of Commerce announced on Thursday that the Ottawa County community will receive 2.1 million dollars to help in what is called “critical” water infrastructure improvements. The Coopersville system will be able to increase water capacity and reliability, mainly to support the adjoining Continental Dairy and Fairlife plants off of Randall Street, as well as for other commercial endeavors.
According to the West Michigan Regional Planning Commission that was instrumental in the grant-development process, the project is expected to create 70 jobs and generate 54 million dollars in private investment.
