SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search for a new leader of Saugatuck Public Schools takes another step tonight.
After selecting new leaders for 2018, the Board of Education will go behind closed doors during its monthly meeting to go over applicants for the Superintendent’s position and to decide which candidates to invite for interviews on Wednesday evening. Rolfe Timmerman is stepping down on January 26th after nine years at the post, and while it is being termed a “retirement,” Board President Jeff Meyers said in a statement last September “that the strategic vision for the future of the Saugatuck district would best be served by a leadership change.”
The board is working with Gary Rider of the Michigan Leadership Institute in the search process and received nearly 90 responses to an online public survey in formulating a “Superintendent Profile” for the next leader.
