ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 23-year-old Spring Lake woman should consider herself very fortunate to have escaped serious injury following a single-vehicle crash last night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jay Douglas, Skylar Brock was driving her older-model SUV northbound on M-231 near Sleeper Street around 6 PM and was attempting to pass a slower vehicle ahead of her on the two-lane highway when she lost control of her vehicle. It struck a guardrail and flipped several times before coming to rest on the roadway.
The unbuckled driver was pulled from her vehicle by other motorists before first responders arrived, and she was taken to Mercy Health Muskegon for treatment of minor injuries. The highway was blocked off for about 45 minutes as a result of the crash. Douglas added that speed, highway conditions and alcohol were not factors as the incident remains under investigation.
