COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 48-year-old Grand Rapids man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Coopersville last evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, Jonathan Hull was driving his van eastbound on Randall Street around 5:30 PM, and while attempting to pass a slower vehicle ahead of him, pulled into the westbound lanes and into the path of the westbound car of 42-year-old Lisa Fife of Muskegon. She swerved to avoid a head-on collision, but the van struck her vehicle on the rear right fender, and then, according to the Sergeant, “after impact, the van went off of the road, hitting a power pole, a park bench and a wooden bridge. The pole did break, and Consumers Energy responded to repair the pole. Randall Street was closed for approximately an hour for clean up and power pole repair.”
Hull was taken to an undisclosed hospital in stable condition, while Fife wasn’t hurt. Wildfong added that both drivers were buckled up as the crash remains under investigation.
