UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Inclement weather forced the postponement of the entire Sunday slate of baseball games involving teams of interest in this region – the Detroit Tigers’ day/night doubleheader with the visiting New York Yankees at Comerica Park, the Chicago Cubs’ contest with the visiting Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field, the White Sox match with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis, and the West Michigan Whitecaps’ doubleheader with the Lansing Lugnuts at Cooley Law School Stadium in the state Capitol. The twin-bill in Detroit was rescheduled for June 4; the game in Chicago will be made up on May 14; no make-up dates were immediately determined for the three contests wiped out by the weather in Minneapolis; and the two games between the Caps and Lugs will be made up when Lansing comes to Fifth Third Ballpark on the weekend of April 27-29.
On Monday night, the Cubs welcome the St. Louis Cardinals to Wrigley Field and the White Sox play the Athletics in Oakland to begin three-game series in each situation. On Tuesday evening, the Tigers host the Baltimore Orioles to open a three-game set, with broadcast time at 6:15 PM on 1450 WHTC and the New 99.7 FM, while the Whitecaps entertain the Bowling Green Hot Rods to start a three-game series.
