ALLEGAN COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Republican Aric Nesbitt announced Tuesday morning that he will run for the Michigan State Senate.
He’s looking to replace the term-limited Senator Tonya Schuitmaker.
The district covers all of Van Buren and Allegan counties, along with Gaines Township and the City of Kentwood in Kent County.
The middle of five children, Nesbitt grew up on a sixth-generation family dairy and grape farm south of Lawton in Van Buren County.
He recently served as Governor Snyder’s youngest cabinet member, managing the state Lottery, which distributed a record $924 million to schools last year.
