WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – The US Small Business Administration has concurred with Governor Snyder – to a point.
Agency Administrator Linda McMahon announced today that residents and businesses in four Michigan counties affected by February’s heavy rains that caused river flooding – Arenac, Berrien, Ingham and Kalamazoo – can apply for low-interest disaster loans through the SBA. This also includes adjacent counties to those four, and among those are Allegan and Van Buren, whose residents and business can go to the Kalamazoo Expo Center or the Berrien Regional Education Service Agency office, beginning tomorrow and running through next Tuesday.
Mr. Snyder had asked the SBA for disaster relief in seven total counties, including Kent, that would’ve encompassed Ottawa County, but McMahon’s declaration omitted three of the Governor’s requested counties.
