ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A new show on Netflix will feature a arson-murder case that took place in Zeeland in 2002.
The case that involved the death of 14-year-old Robin Boes in 2002 is being featured on the new show, “The Confession Tapes, The girl’s Mother Karen Boes was sent to prison for life for starting the fire with the intent to kill her daughter.
According to the show’s producer Kelly Loudenberg, the premise of the show is to highlight problems with police interrogations.
“This case was a case where Karen was interrogated by someone that was a neighbor and a friend. There was a lot of you know telling Karen to act like she was in this dream state and if you know if her conscious mind didn’t do it, maybe her unconscious mind did it.”
Loudenberg believes Boes was coerced into giving a confession by an investigator whom she knew. The series is available on Netflix and you can watch the trailer here.
