GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A Flood Warning remains in effect for Ottawa and Allegan Counties until 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 24.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has also issued a Gale Warning for Lake Michigan from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday and a Wind Advisory for Ottawa and Allegan Counties from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25.
Winds will gust to over 45 mph this afternoon and evening. Scattered power outages are possible with this storm and Halloween decorations and garbage bins could blow over. Winds this strong can make driving difficult. Sump pumps may need back up sources as well. .
On Lake Michigan waves will build to 10 to 14 feet with the Gale Warning.
As colder air moves into Michigan, there is the potential for snow in the next few days. With the lake effect there wIll not be as much cold air to produce snow.
Colder air is moving into Michigan, bringing with it the potential for snow across the state in the next few days. We could see some snow flakes along the lakeshore with accumulation in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Temps will drop into the mid 30’s overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.
