CHESTER TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A two-vehicle crash injured four people in Chester Township Wednesday afternoon.
Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies along with Chester Township Fire/Rescue were called to the scene at the intersection of Gooding Street and Kenowa Avenue around 12:44 p.m. Investigation shows that 66-year-old Agustin Morales-Rodrigues of Kent City was southbound on Kenowa Avenue in a 2000 Buick Century when he failed to stop at the stop sign. He was then struck by a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 27-year-old Trinidad Ramos-Hernandez of Holton who was eastbound on Gooding Street.
Both drivers and their passengers were injured in the crash. Morales-Rodrigues and his 54-year-old passenger, Jose Leon-Trigueros were transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in stable condition.
Ramos-Hernandez and his passenger 34-year-old Ramos Hernandez-Jeremias were treated at the scene for minor injuries with Ramos-Hernandez was also being transported Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in stable condition.
Morales-Rodriguez was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
