HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Surely you saw it in the skies during the Tulip Time Festival. A drone flying high above taking in all that Tulip Time had to offer.
The men and brains behind the drone are Jasper Manifold of Manifold Industries LLC and Jesse Ballard of AGL Consultants. Both studied at Northern Michigan University and approached Tulip Time about making a promotional video to show showcase the festival.
WHTC caught up with the two at Kollen Park Saturday before the fireworks display.
Ballard who hails from St. Johns operates the drone and says the benefit of having a drone is that you are able to embrace the elevator perspective.”The elevator prespective is videography from the sky. Being able to see what a plane or helicopter would see. The landscape and the layout itself.”
Manifold who lives in Hillsdale says it captures the entire essence of the festival.
“You can people moving around and all of the events all at once. It helps give an idea this festival is and how big of a crown it attracts.”
The two will now go over footage collected from the drone and make a video that Tulip Time can use to promote the festival. The video should be available in a few weeks.
Both Manifold and Ballard are pilots as well. Their companies offer their services not only for festivals, but all aspects of business like car dealerships, realtors, and anyone who wants to market their business. It’s data from the sky that covers a broad range.
