GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Speed was the contributing factor to a crash involving three teens in Grand Haven last night, according to an Ottawa County Sheriff’s report. The crash occurred at approximately 10 p.m. last night at 15600 Comstock St., within Pottawatomie Park in Grand Haven Twp.
17-year-old Sarah Wilkinson was driving northbound on Comstock when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. She was injured and taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital, and then transferred to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. Two juveniles were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, one in the front passenger seat and one in the back. Both passengers were injured as well.
The front seat passenger is listed in stable condition at Hackley hospital and the backseat passenger is in good condition at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s department says that alcohol and drugs were not a factor of the crash, but Wilkinson was in fact driving too fast.
