CROCKERY TWP, MI (WHTC) – A Muskegon woman is in serious, but stable condition after rolling her vehicle and crashing into a guardrail head-on.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene on Leonard Road near 129th Avenue in Crockery Township of Ottawa County around 9 p.m. Sgt. Eric Westveer says 44-year-old Holly Hays was eastbound Tuesday, March 21, when her Chevy Monte Carlo veered off the right side of the roadway and hit the end of a guardrail head-on. Her vehicle then flipped over and she was pinned in for an unknown amount of time.
A passerby found her in her vehicle and called 911. Crockery Fire Rescue extricated Hays from her vehicle and she was transported to Hackley Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and authorities do not know what caused Hays to leave the roadway. It is unclear whether or not she was wearing her seatbelt and the crash remains under investigation.
