ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – Charges have now been filed in a Sunday night crash that killed a 42-year-old Saugatuck man in the Fennville area.
Meghann Corcoran Owen was arraigned on counts of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating While License Suspended Causing Death, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. There was no immediate word from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office of any bond being posted by the 37-year-old Douglas woman.
According to Sheriff’s Captain Chris Kuhn, first responders were dispatched to 116th Avenue near 65th Street on a report of a crash around 9:20 PM. They found a pickup truck that appeared to have rolled over while traveling westbound, with passenger Jeremy Slenk apparently thrown from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Bronson Hospital with critical head injuries and succumbed shortly after arrival.
