HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – It didn’t take long after a High Wind Warning took effect on Wednesday for the first reports of power outages surfaced along the Lakeshore.
As of 11:30 a.m. two separate spots affecting a total of around 600 Holland BPW customers were noted, one in the Holland Heights neighborhood, and the other in the Beechwood neighborhood off of the northern shore of Lake Macatawa. Utility officials initially said that electricity should be restored between 12 Noon and 1 PM.
Consumers Energy’s outage map at the same time showed several affected areas of up to 3700 customersin Allegan County and 2700 in Ottawa County. No estimated time of power restoration was announced.
The High Wind Warning, with gusts of up to 60 miles per hour predicted by National Weather Service forecasters in the Grand Rapids office, is slated to last until 7 PM on Wednesday.
