GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A two-vehicle crash sent a 59-year-old Zeeland man to the hospital.
Just after midnight on Monday, June 26, Ottawa County Deputies were dispatched to Port Sheldon and Chicago Drive in Georgetown Township. Sgt. Matt Wilfong says a 16-year-old Hudsonville resident had stopped his 2007 KIA at the flashing red light at intersection of Port Sheldon Road and Chicago Drive. The teen whose name has not been released then pulled into the intersection into the path of 2003 Chevy Impala driven by 50-year-old Kevin Rush of Zeeland.
Sgt. Matt Wilfong says the 2007 KIA rolled over several times before coming to rest on railroad tracks on the northside of the intersection. The teen was not injured.
Rush was treated at the scene and then transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in good condition.
The crash remains under investigation and alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
