GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 14-year-old Jenison boy suffered a critical head wound after a 13-year-old friend shot him last night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Mark Bennett, the two were at the victim’s home, in the 73 hundred block of Shadbleau Drive, located in a subdivision off of 20th Avenue and Baldwin Street, when a round was fired from a pellet gun just after 8 PM. The pellet was lodged in the victim’s skull and he was taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery last night.
Deputies have interviewed the shooter, with no charges immediately filed and no names immediately disclosed, as the incident remains under investigation. Tips to Silent Observer are welcome.
