CHESTER TWP, MI (WHTC) – A couple from Ravenna were both injured in a crash Sunday evening.
Road conditions were icy when the crash occurred at around 5:41 p.m. Sunday, January 29, says Sgt. Eric Westveer of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
63-year-old Alford Kaufman and his passenger 61-year-old Margaret Kaufman were southbound on 36th Avenue north of Truman Road in Chester Township when he lost control of his vehicle. Margaret who was not wearing her seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle as it hit an icy patch and rolled into a ditch.
Alfrod Kaufman also was not wearing his seatbelt and was seriously injured in the crash and transported to Butterworth Hospital.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
