HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Hope College basketball will be a sea of purple when they team with Purple Community and Van Andel Institute.
The Purple Community raises support for cancer, neurodegenerative and Parkinson’s disease research.
The Flying Dutch basketball team will host Alma College while the Flying Dutchmen basketball team tips-off against Albion on Saturday, January 28.
Hope Basketball Coach Brian Morehouse spoke passionately to WHTC News about the Institute and says they are not just raising funds. It’s raising an awareness and appreciation of what goes on in Grand Rapids at the Van Andel Institute.
“The Van Andel Institute represents so much of what is good in West Michigan. At the forefront of so much of the research and what I call the medical mile in Grand Rapids, I am so grateful for how much they have invested in the welfare of West Michigan. Do you want to help? Come out and buy a purple t-shirt. You want to help? Come out and make yourself educated on what the Van Andel Institute is doing and how that might help your family.”
