UNDATED (WHTC) – It was a busy Tuesday in high school basketball along the Lakeshore, with all but Saugatuck’s boys and Fennville’s girls in action.
Holland split a pair with Hamilton, with the Dutch boys winning at home, 70-54, and the Hawkeye girls winning at home, 50-24. Holland Christian did the same with Unity Christian, with the Crusader boys winning at home, 48-45, and the Maroon girls winning at home, 42-22. West Ottawa’s boys downed visiting Grand Haven, 68-45, but the Buccaneer girls handed the visiting Panthers, 50-29.
Zeeland East swept a doubleheader from visiting Zeeland West by scores of 60-42 for the boys and 45-43 for the girls. Calvary did the same at Algoma Christian by scores of 75-35 for the boys and 47-21 for the girls.
In other results: Covenant Christian’s boys 58, Fennville 57; North Muskegon’s girls 59, Saugatuck 47; Black River’s boys 60, Kalamazoo Heritage 24; and Black River’s girls 46, West Michigan Lutheran 36.

Two goals in the first nine minutes of the third period by Vinnie Hinostroza enabled the Blackhawks to rally past the Colorado Avalanche in Denver last night, 6-4. Chicago skates at Boston against the Bruins on Friday evening.

Harrison Barnes scored 20 points, but the visiting Dallas Mavericks needed a triple by Wesley Matthews with 12 seconds left to upend the Bulls at the United Center last night, 99-98. Chicago travels to Atlanta on Friday evening, facing a Hawks team that has to take on the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills tonight.
