In the opener, Francesca Buchanan scored 18 points and Mandy Traversa added 17 with 12 rebounds as the Flying Dutch downed the Olivet Comets, 86-54. Dante Hawkins tossed in 29 points as the Flying Dutchmen took the nightcap with an 88-77 triumph over the Alma Scots. On Saturday afternoon, while the Hope women are in South Bend to meet the Belles of St. Mary’s, the men visit Angola to take on the Trine Thunder in a game you can hear at 2:40 PM on the Lakeshore’s 92.7 The Van.
