UNDATED (WHTC) – Nearly a full slate of high school basketball is scheduled along the Lakeshore this evening, with a majority of contests being boys/girls or girls/boys doubleheaders.
Greg Chandler will be at the Holland Civic Center for the Holland-Holland Christian boys’ game, with his coverage beginning at 5:40 PM on 1450 WHTC. Meanwhile, Gary Stevens will bring you the complete Hartford at Saugatuck girls/boys twin bill, starting also at 5:40 PM, on the Lakeshore’s 92.7 The Van.
Other doubleheaders on tap include Zeeland West at Unity Christian, Hamilton at Byron Center, Coloma at Fennville and Calvary at The Potter’s House. Boys’ play finds West Ottawa at Stevensville Lakeshore, Zeeland East at Godwin Heights and Black River hosting Fruitport Calvary.

Thomas Vanek scored twice while Andreas Athanasiou had a goal and two helpers, all in the first period, and Jared Coreau made that early advantage stand up by stopping 34 shots, as the Red Wings blanked the Kings in Los Angeles last night, 4-0. Detroit plays the Sharks in San Jose tomorrow evening.
Patrick Kane’s goal in the first minute of overtime lifted the Blachawks past the visiting Buffalo Sabres last night, 4-3. Chicago is home to the Carolina Hurricanes at the United Center this evening.

Tobias Harris tallied 25 points, but the Pistons needed two free throws with less than two seconds left by Reggie Jackson that capped a 22-point, 11-assist performance to edge the visiting Charlotte Bobcats last night, 115-114. Detroit heads west to meet the Trail Blazers in Portland tomorrow evening.
