OLIVE TWP, MI (WHTC) – A suspect is being sought in a home invasion in Olive Township.
Captain John Wolffis of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, in 1400 block of Winding Creek Lane in the West Olive Estates mobile home park.
A male suspect walked into a home and took a purse off the kitchen table. The person in the home saw the man look into the purse and then discard it on the deck. Then the man was observed hiding in the bushes. Witnesses called 911 and the suspect fled the area.
A K-9 unit from the sheriff’s office attempted to track the suspect, but he was not located.
The suspect is described as a male with a thin build, dark hair and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a white bandana, dark grey hoodie and black pants with a white stripe.
The Sheriff’s office is encouraging residents in the area to keep doors locked and report any suspicious activity.
