HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A long Wednesday night might be ahead for Holland City Council members.
The biweekly work-study session begins with a presentation by Lt. Andy Fias on changes to the Michigan Marijuana Act and how it impacts local governments. That’s followed by a discussion on the pros and cons of continuing the support for the Holland in Bloom competitive urban beautification awareness project, as it segues from the national America in Bloom effort in 2017 to the international Communities in Bloom program.
City Attorney Ron Vander Veen will then huddle with Council members behind closed doors for a protracted “review” of an unnamed legal opinion. Following that, the session will again be open to the public for the panel to work with City Manager Ryan Cotton on finalizing goals and priorities ahead of his drafting of a Fiscal 2018 spending plan for the Tulip City.
No final decisions will be made during the work-study session, which starts at 5:30 PM in the second-floor Training Room at Holland City Hall.
