COMSTOCK PARK, MI (WHTC) – The West Michigan Whitecaps are in Spring Training getting ready for this year’s baseball season and 5th Third Ballpark is ready for another season.
The Whitecaps’ 24th season begins Thursday, April 6 ,against the South Bend Cubs. This year fans will see some changes to Fifth Third Ballpark with a new hospitality area along the left field line called Canadian Lakes Landing. It fill offer luxurious seating and can accommodate up to 120 people. Along the right field line is the Meijer Hometown Playground which has been expanded from 2,500 square feet to 6,400 square feet. A new playground with inflatable games awaits kids of all ages.
The Family Fare Fireworks will light up the sky for 20 home games including all Wednesday and Saturday games from June to September.
Tiger Friday’s return starting June 2 with Jack Morris. Former Detroit Tiger players will be out every Friday through August 25. The first 1,000 fans will get a Tigers item.
Other highly-anticipated dates include Star Wars Night, Power Rangers Night, Stand Up to Cancer night and many other specials night at the ballpark await you in 2017.
