LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Representatives from a Holland firm will accompany Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley on a trade mission to Mexico.
Factory automation systems maker Koops is one of 21 companies that will have staffers take part in the three-day excursion that leaves Lansing on Sunday. In a statement, Mr. Calley said that the group “will use this opportunity to capitalize on that momentum (of many new investments made and jobs created in recent years), tell the Michigan comeback story and attract even more investment and jobs.”
The group will participate in the supply chain-oriented Automotives Meetings Queretaro business forum, as well as meeting with two separate Mexican companies with operations in Michigan. Queretaro is a sister city to Holland.
The mission comes with the backdrop of President Trump’s immigration actions that have perceptively strained Mexican-American relations over the past month.
