GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) – A crash in Georgetown Township yesterday afternoon sent two women to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, with one woman in serious condition.
According to Ottawa County Sherriff Sgt. Brian Buter, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Baldwin St. and 28th Ave. at around 2 p.m. Friday for a two-car injury crash.
The initial investigation showed that 52-year-old Patty Huisingh of Zeeland was east bound of Baldwin St. when she ran a red light and t-boned 46 year-old Staci Nieboer of Hudsonville. Nieboer was trying to turn west onto Baldwin St. from north bound 28th Ave. when she was hit.
In the aftermath of the crash, personal items and parts of the cars littered the intersection.
Both women were taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital with injuries. Nieboer was last listed in stable condition, while Huisingh had more serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
