HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tulip Time 2017 will see some new events this spring.
At the First Bloom event Thursday evening where the Tulip Time 2017 poster winner was unveiled, Executive Director Gwen Auwerda not only revealed the new events, but asked that you be a part of the community. Instead of going out of town during Tulip Time, stay in town.
“Tulip Time is such a great opportunity to be a part of your community as well as visitors that are here. Let’s all be the community. There is so much negative stuff going on in the world, and Tulip Time and Holland is such a great place that everyone can be part of something fun. We can all be part of community by engaging and doing something. There is something for everyone to do.”
A new event inspired by the Kentucky Derby called Tulips and Juleps will feature a viewing of the Derby, alcoholic beverages, appetizers and prizes. It’s brought to you by the Holland Young Professionals organization and a portion of the proceeds will go to their endowment fund. You’re invited to wear your best hat and attire. $25 tickets go on sale in March.
One of the things people voiced they opinion about was the lack of things to do after the parades and before Dutch Dance. Now you’ll have street performers to entertain you after the parades as well as the Petoskey Steel Street Band for an afternoon. The Tulip Time offices will be moving this year giving employees and visitors more space.
Tulip Time merchandise is on sale now at the Tulip Time office featuring the new poster “Playful Time.” on cards, coffee mugs and more. Tickets for headliner Vince Gill are still available, but selling fast.
