HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) – Jets Pizza in Hudsonville took on some damage today after a woman drove her vehicle into the front window of the restaurant.
79-year-old Grandville resident Alice Stob was driving in the parking lot in front of Jets Pizza in Hudsonville, located at 3735 Baldwin St. just before 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit the front window of the pizza chain.
According to a release from Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Stob claimed that her sandal got stuck on the gas pedal while she was driving in the parking lot and she accidently accelerated over the curb and into the restaurant.
Neither Stob nor anyone else in the vicinity of the accident was injured. The Georgetown Twp. Fire Department and local utility companies are currently investigating whether the building is structurally sound.
