PORT SHELDON TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 26-year-old Holland motorcyclist is in stable condition after striking a pick-up truck.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were called to scene at New Holland Street and 152nd Avenue in Post Sheldon Township the around 9:30 p.m. Friday, August 18.
Sgt. Cal Kuening says a 17-year-old Holland male whose name has not been released, was driving a Ford F-250 pick-up truck that was was traveling through the intersection to go west on new Holland Street. As the pick-truck entered the intersection, a motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Jesse Frye struck the pick-up. The motorcycle then went into a blueberry field on the west side of 152nd Avenue.
Frye was initially transported to Holland Hospital then was later transferred to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids continued care.
The crash remains under investigation. Responding agencies were the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Road Patrol, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office/Park Township Community Police, Port Sheldon Fire Department, Park Township Fire Department and AMR ambulance.
