HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Greater Ottawa County United Way has received initial totals for its fifth annual Stuff the Bus Campaign.
Shannon LaHaie, vice president of Volunteer engagement for Greater Ottawa County United Way, has announced that over $21,000 in school supplies was donated in this year’s collection drive from a record number of boxes at almost 65 locations in Ottawa County.
Some of the supplies that were donated were backpacks, water bottles, writing utensils, folders, and glue sticks. LaHai says the supplies will really help for the fast approaching school year.
“What’s really great about that is not only does that alleviate some of the stress for those kiddos going back to school, that need those supplies to be successful, but it also alleviates some of the financial burdens for their parents and teachers.”
