GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – There are new limits on dogs at City Beach in Grand Haven.
A new rule passed by city council will not allow dogs on the beach from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day,
Vester Davis Jr. is the assistant to the city manager in Grand Haven and says they are trying to reach a comprimise.
“We’re trying to reach a balance between those who love dogs and those who may not be fans of dogs and what dogs leave behind sometimes.”
There’s also the thought that the sand can get too hot for their paws during the afternoon hours in the summer.
Pets will remain allowed on the beach at Grand Haven State Park all the time, so long as they’re on a six-foot leash.
