GRAND HAVEN TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 65-year-old Grand Haven woman was injured Friday morning after she drove into the back of a garbage truck.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 7:47 a.m. to Comstock just west of 160th in Grand Haven Township. Sgt. Kristie Wendt says Christopher O’Kelly had just finished a pickup with Allied Waste Services and continued his route on eastbound Comstock Street. Deborah Spicer who was behind the truck was blinded by the sun and when she tried to pull her visor down, she ran into the back of the truck.
Spicer was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
Responding agencies were the Sheriff’s Office, Grand Haven Fire Rescue and North Ottawa Community Hospital.
