HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – St. Joseph Congressman Fred Upton made national news when he announced on WHTC News that he was going to stay in his own lane and would not endorse Republican Nominee Donald Trump for President.
Upton took notes on Monday night’s debate and says he didn’t think either of the candidates looked great and if he was Donald Trump he’d fire his debate team for not quite getting all the homework done all the way.
“A lot of different issues were brought up and I would say it was pretty rough and not the best night for either one. Some of the stuff just got in the weeds that really wasn’t let’s face it, presidential. The polls show that the majority of voters are not happy with either one.”
Upton says the trade issue was the one issue they opened up about the most and it will be an important issue especially here in Michigan between now and November 8th.
