ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) – A third report of a sex assault near the campus of Grand Valley State University has been reported.
Ottawa County Sheriff Captain Mark Bennett the most recent assault happened Thursday night September 22, to a woman walking between buildings at the 48 West apartment complex. In the first two, the victims saw one attacker, while the third victim says there were two men involved.
Bennett says the Sheriff’s Office cannot say for sure if the three assaults are connected but says their are some similarities. ” The physical description of the suspect, time of the day of the assault and the locations of the assault are similar.” In the prior two assaults, the male suspect is described as about 6’2”, tanned, wearing a baseball hat backwards and basketball shorts.
Bennett says detectives are speaking with the victim in the latest case, doing work around the scene and canvassing the area for any clues.
